This intensive Erasmus training course is designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills to become effective mentors and coaches. Participants will explore the theoretical foundations of mentoring and coaching, develop essential communication and feedback techniques, and learn how to build trusting relationships that support professional growth.
Description
Day 1: Foundations — Defines mentoring (guidance) vs. coaching (potential). Sets ethical standards and professional models to ensure a structured, principled approach to educator growth.
Day 2: Relationships — Focuses on the “human element.” Skills include building trust, rapport, and psychological safety, creating a space where mentees feel secure enough to take risks.
Day 3: Core Skills — Practical toolsets: active listening, powerful questioning, and constructive feedback. Includes goal setting via frameworks like the GROW model.
Day 4: Growth — Moves toward self-actualization. Facilitates reflection and resilience, helping educators navigate challenges while fostering long-term professional learning.

- Differentiate between mentorship and coaching roles.
- Apply effective communication and interpersonal skills in mentorship and coaching interactions.
- Utilize various techniques to support the growth and development of mentees/coachees.
- Design and implement mentorship and coaching programs within their educational settings.

Materials, Digital Tools & Other Learning Resources
Participants receive a digital handbook with guides to cooperative learning structures, conflict resolution scripts, classroom posters, and presentations. An online platform will host all materials and facilitate the sharing of best practices among the European educators.
