This 5-day course empowers teachers to bring the exciting world of robotics and coding into their classrooms. Participants will gain a solid understanding of fundamental concepts, explore popular educational robotics kits and visual programming languages, and learn practical methods to integrate these technologies across various subjects.
Description
Day 1: Basics – Intro to robotics kits and their classroom benefits. Hands-on workshop: building and programming a simple robot.
Day 2: Coding Foundations – Mastering visual languages (Scratch/Blockly) and “unplugged” computational thinking. Teachers create interactive games.
Day 3: STEM Integration – Bridging robotics with Math and Science through interdisciplinary project design.
Day 4: Arts & Humanities – Exploring creative applications and sharing European best practices in a collaborative showcase.
Learning Objectives
- Knowledge: Define robotics (sensors, actuators) and coding fundamentals (algorithms, loops, computational thinking). Distinguish between visual (Scratch/Blockly) and text-based languages.
- Skills: Assemble and program robots for movement and sensing. Create interactive games/animations and troubleshoot/debug hardware and code.
- Pedagogy: Integrate these tools across subjects via project-based learning. Design lesson plans, facilitate collaboration, and assess student projects.
Methodology & Assessment
The course will adopt an interactive and participatory methodology, combining theoretical sessions with practical workshops, group discussions, case study analysis, and collaborative activities. Learning will be centered on the participants’ experience and their active involvement. Practical workshops will provide the opportunity to directly experiment with the use of different digital tools and AI-based applications. Assessment will be primarily formative and based on active participation in activities, completion of practical tasks, and reflection on their teaching practices. There will be no formal exams. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and develop an action plan for the integration of the technologies learned into their professional context. Continuous feedback will be provided to support their learning and professional growth.

Digital teaching materials, tutorials, practical guides, and links to online resources will be provided. Various digital tools and online platforms will be used for practical activities and collaboration.
