To combat teacher burnout and disaffection, educators must look beyond traditional teaching to master emotional intelligence and coaching. This evolution focuses on five key areas:
- Knowledge: Understanding coaching techniques and emotional intelligence (EI).
- Self-Awareness: Boosting confidence and empathy through better self-regulation and interpersonal skills.
- Application: Using coaching to guide student goal-setting and provide constructive feedback.
- Environment: Applying EI to manage classroom dynamics and foster supportive spaces.
- Growth: Creating personal action plans for continuous professional development.
By adopting these skills, teachers rediscover their motivation and move from frustration toward a sense of renewed purpose.
Learning Objectives
- EI & Coaching in Education — Core Concepts: Master the five pillars of EI—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—to improve classroom dynamics.
- Self-Awareness: Educators analyze personal triggers and strengths to create a development plan that minimizes emotional reactivity in the classroom.
- Interpersonal Mastery: Focus on active listening, non-verbal cues, and constructive conflict resolution to build rapport with students and peers.
